子供たちが学生の頃、揃って「道」に励んでいた時期があった。長女弓道、次女剣道、長男柔道。今は皆その道から遠ざかっているが、私が茶道を40年ぶりに再開して思うのは、「道」というのは本当に深い世界だということだ。
先日、あるフランス人の外資系日本法人社長が弓道に励んでいるという新聞記事を読んだ。結果が全ての西洋にはない、プロセスを重視する点を新鮮に感じたという。
正射必中。ゆみを射るまでの一連の動作を正しく行えば必ず的を射ることが出来るとする教えである。
「的に当てたい」「他の人より上手に」そう思うほどに悩みが生じ、姿勢が崩れてうまくいかなくなるという。
弓道のベストショットを導く無念無想の状態。弓道の根本的な精神は的に当てるのではなく、当たること。
「射即人生」人生は射と同じで、迷いなど弱さが形となって表れる。うまくいかない時こそ外に責任を求めるのでは無く、自分の中に戻ることが大切だ、と。
的を狙おうとせず、弓を射るまでの動作を大切にすれば、おのずと的にあたる。
お茶のお稽古で、”一二三”というお点前を評価する七事式を習った。よく点てようとか美味しく入れようとか邪な思いがよぎり、先生に苦いと言われた。恐ろしいものだ。修業が足りない。
人に見られ、人を見ることでお点前が磨かれるのだと思ったが、“一二三”では究極的には人に見られている、人を見ていることも忘れてしまうほどさらりとした亭主ぶり、客ぶりになることが求められるという。
“一二三”には利休百首の「稽古とは一より習ひ十を知り十よりかへるもとのその一」の精神も流れているとか。
一二三で始まり、三二一と帰っていく旅、全てのことが一から始まり一に戻ると教える深い式であることを知った。
週末に着物の仕事がある。心してかかりたい。
My children were learning Japanese traditional sports, Judo,kendo ,kyudo(japanese archery) during their student days.
What is the difference between ordinary sports and "do 道”?
"Sports" is a comparison with other people, but "do, Road（道)"is a thing that leads to "Zen" by exploring myself (self) and enhancing your own mind and polishing. Having a high spirituality, it was meaningful to pursue the way as a person.
Mr Jeroam Shush is the president of Godiva ,and proficient in kyudo.He makes use of the spirit of kyudo for company management .
There is a teaching that if you do a series of actions until you shoot a bow , you can certainly shoot the target.
They take care of the process rather than the result.
If you think "I want to hit the target" or "better than others," troubles arise, the posture collapses and it does not go well.
Life is the same as shooting, and weakness appears in the form. It is important that you return to yourself when it does not work.If you care about the action until you shoot the bow without trying to target, it hits naturally.
Goal achievement is the result of a correct attitude, it is not itself a goal. Like kyudo, if you do not concentrate yourself from achieving your goal, your posture collapses and you can not reach your goal. Instead of looking at the targets alone, if you focus on always making the attitude correct, you can achieve your goals naturally."
